Out with the Old......

So the day after Z's party, we started on our next "project". With the help of Grandpa and Grandma and our handy friend, John, we successfully emptied our upstairs living room and downstairs family room of all of their contents and then succeeded in tearing out the old, dirty, stained, gross carpet from said living spaces, as well as the connecting stairs and hallways. All of this was done in preparation for the new carpet that would be arriving the next morning sometime between 7 and 9 AM. It was a job but we got 'er done. Here are some pics of the "demolition".We let T color on the floor once the old stuff was out - he thought that was "cool". Of course, we very emphatically stressed that there would be no coloring on the floor once the new carpet was in place. So far, he has obliged :)At 7:40 Monday morning, the carpet man came and got to work. It took him most of the day, and when all was said and done, it turned out well. We are thoroughly enjoying the look and feel of our new flooring - not to mention how absolutely stain-free it is!The downstairs got the same carpet as pictured upstairs. However, because it officially became the "play room" after the new carpet came in (i.e., we didn't put the couch and chairs back in it - there's only recliner and the rest is play stuff), the carpet is currently covered in toys and is not really "picture ready". But I think you get the idea :)
