In Search of Warmer Climates

What is one to do when it is so cold your face literally feels like it is going to fall off within seconds of stepping foot outside and the chance of going any place truly tropical and warm in the near future is slim to none? Well, you buck up, stop feeling sorry for yourself and you take your kids and meet some friends and spend a morning on "The Tropics Trail" at the Zoo :) At least that's what we did this past Thursday. The biggest draw for T and Z (other than hanging out with their good buds E and H) was the new baby De Brazza monkey born just a few weeks ago. He was cuddled up with his mama quite nicely when we were there. We also spent a bit of time under the sea and watched the fish be fed on the coral reef and learned some interesting facts from Diver Dan. We had a front row seat. After the tropics, we also made a visit to Discovery Bay where Z and H had a nice little chat while observing the sting rays and sharks. Thanks for braving the elements, D Fam, and spending the morning with us! It was an adventure!
