Splash Camp

The very week that we returned from OH and CO, T got to have his first Vacation Bible School experience. It was called Splash Camp, as it coincided with the annual Summer Splash neighborhood carnival our church has hosted for the past few years now. Michael and I both helped out with the camp - I did registration and other odds and ends throughout the morning and he led the gross motor/game/activity time. Little Miss Z hung out and napped at the church while all the hustle and bustle was going on. T had an absolute BLAST! His teachers were super and so encouraging! He loved every minute of it......

the gamesthe stories, crafts and projects, and especially the singing and playing instrument portions of his days.At the end of the five days, the kids got to sing a bit of what they had learned at the Summer Splash carnival on Friday night. T and his buddy E, sporting the shirts they had tie-dyed during the week of camp, did a FANTASTIC job! Then on Sunday morning during worship, the kids performed the entire Splash Camp program they had worked so hard on throughout the week. Though the older kids had a bigger role in the performance, T's class sang two songs by themselves and then joined in on a big group number. The video below is a clip of T's favorite song from the week (he's still singing it three weeks later) during one of the Camp mornings. What a blast!
