A Visit with Pake and Beppe

So, the kids and I headed out on Friday morning and arrived safely at my parent's home just in time for supper. All things considered, they did a great job and I was pleased with how our travels went. T enjoyed lots of time with his Pake and Beppe. I think he especially wore my dad out. They played lots of baseball in the backyard, played in the boat, watered the fish in the pond (who knew that fish needed watering), played at the park (a lot) and just spent some good quality time together. T also found a new home for Flags R'Us.And of course, like every other 3 year old, T celebrated Flag Day on Sunday by promptly hanging up the Stars and Stripes in front of my parents house that morning. What's that you say? Most 3 year olds DON'T celebrate Flag Day???? Tell that to this little Patriot. And as for little Miss Z. Well, she had fun with Pake and Beppe, too. She spent a lot of time playing, playing and playing. She also celebrated her 10 month birthday yesterday. Where has the time gone?!And on the only real bummer note of our whole time away, Z also had her first out-of-state visit to the doctor. She came down with a fever yesterday after having had a runny nose for a few days prior. Everything checked out fine at the clinic (aside from the fever). She is still running one today and was a real trooper in the car despite that. We're hoping and praying that it breaks tonight and that she will quickly be back to her cheery little self (we're also praying that none of us get whatever it is she has). After all, who wants to be sick in the SUMMER?!

THE PICTURE OF T IN GRANDPA'S BOAT WAS SO CUTE. THAT'S ALSO A FAVORITE PLACE TO PLAY AT OUR HOUSE . THE NEIGHBORS GET QUITE AN EARFUL FROM THE BOAT HORN.

Bravo, Stacy! I think it is harder to take 2 kids on a car trip to Chicago than climbing any mountain, but what do I know...ML
