After such a busy Friday, we spent most of Saturday at home gearing up for T's big day on Sunday. Mommy ran lots of errands while T and I stayed with Pake and Beppe at our house. Daddy had class all day in Mankato but when he returned late that afternoon, he joined right in on the party preparations. Sunday dawned a beautiful warm sunny day and after a trip to church in the morning, lunch, and naps, it was time for the grand event. T's party this year was an Olympic theme as it combined two of his favorite things - world flags and sports! The evening kicked off with some tasty supper.

Once the guests were all fed and energized, it was time for the grand festivities - "Let the games begin!" First up was the Pinata event - all of the kids were able to take multiple swings at the giant star. The first batter was the birthday boy.....

followed by Cousin E.....

then T's buddy E......

who was then followed by Cousin N......

and last but certainly not least was the lone female representative, T's pal L........

The star proved to be a formidable opponent so Daddy stepped in with a BIG bat and struck the final blows to release the sweet treats. Jackpot!!!

All the kids quickly scrambled to fill up their bags with some of the well earned candy.

Medals were presented to all of the participants for their perseverance.

The party then turned back to the house where we sang "Happy Birthday" to T and he was able to blow out all of the candles on his Olympic rings cake.

The cake and its many flags were a big hit with my brother. With tummies full of cake and ice cream, the kids headed back outside (with adult supervision, of course) to participate in some more Olympic party events.

Finally, with all of the games complete, everyone headed inside to watch T open his presents. He received a TON of cool gifts. Here are a few of his favorites.....

A big THANK YOU to all of T's guests for helping us celebrate his 3rd birthday! It was a great party.....at least that's what I'm told. You see, here's how I spent most of my time at the celebration......

I was the life of the party!!!

Oh, Z, you did such a good job telling us about the big weekend. The party sure was fun and YOU were a super good girl. Love G & G L.
Wow! Looks like a great party! I love the olympic/flag theme - perfect for your big T. Luke has the same shirt that T wore for the party - we're saving it for when he turns 4 next spring.
Hope you were able to rest up after all the festivities!
