The Great MN Get Together

The fun kicked off with the arrival of my Pake and Beppe on Friday afternoon, just after nap time was complete. After a quick stretch break at our house, we all loaded up into the Odyssey and headed up to the State Fair. It seems this is an annual event for my family and so it was a fitting way to spend my official 2-week birthday. Truth be told, I spent the majority of my visit to the Get Together like this.....although I did wake up to eat and then stayed awake for awhile and looked at all the lights. While I was busy resting, the rest of the gang (especially my brother T) were busy whooping it up. Their first stop was at the giant turkey leg stand for my Daddy.Whoa! That's a lot of meat! Then, apparently T has been asking to ride on a ferris wheel for months now so our next stop was the Kidway/Midway where his wish came true. Daddy and I watched from the ground while the other four went up, up and away!
I guess T's first ferris wheel experience was all that he hoped for. Mommy said he giggled each time the wheel went down and around. Our next destination was the "Little Farm Hands" exhibit where T got to try his hand at farming. He did a fantastic job!!! After such hard work on the farm, T was treated to a ride on the merry-go-round....another first for him. Once again, mommy said he giggled each time his horse went up and down. I wonder if I'll be big enough to go along for the ride next summer!
The next little while was spent eating and checking out some of the other fair exhibits and attractions. T enjoyed a foot long corn dog for his supper treat (followed by some caramel apple bites and topped off with some Sweet Martha cookies). The evening concluded back at the Kidway/Midway where T enjoyed some more rides. He was so brave and went on a whole bunch of new adventures, including a roller coaster, the swings (twice), and a miniature ferris wheel just his size. All in all, I would have to say that my first MN State Fair experience was a grand one. I am already looking forward to next year!
