Aquatennial '08

Hey people! T here. Just wanted to fill you in on some crazy fun that I had last night! As has been tradition the past couple of years, my Mom and Dad took a group of youth from our church downtown last night for the Aquatennial fireworks show. This year, I got to stay up way past my bedtime and go and live the nightlife right along with them! It was awesome!!!! First, we staked out a spot along the river to watch the show. Then we roamed around and took in all of the prefirework festivities - including some live music, food, clowns and free stuff. One of my favorite treats (as well as my Mom's) were the mini donuts!!!It was kind of a long wait for the show, but I really didn't mind. I played A LOT with the big kids, especially Miss Joanna - she's the coolest! My mom and I had a good time being silly, too!FINALLY - it got dark!!!! I knew this meant the fireworks were just around the corner. One of the big kids gave me these really cool glow sticks that Miss Joanna helped me turn into big "O's". I had fun playing all kinds of goofy games with them - I know this picture is dark but at least you can see my cool ear "rings" pretty well!At 10:00 promptly, the sky lit up and for nearly 30 minutes, we were ooohed and aaahed by the colorful show in the sky. I wore my trusty headphones (the ones I wear when I play my drum set) so the really loud booms didn't bother me one bit. It was AWESOME!!!! I can't wait to go again next year!!!
