Today's advent chain activity was "Build A Snowman". Most often, by mid-December in the state in which we live, this would not be a difficult or strange task to complete. However, this year, it is not a doable feat. This year, we essentially had one bout of snow back in November that has since melted. We got a slight dusting on Friday evening but definitely nothing that can be rolled and stacked into a man. So, we took matters into our own hands and veered away from the chain today for our advent memory maker. Today, instead of making a snowman, we accompanied Beppe to a tree farm nearby and helped her select a lovely tree. Michael then sawed it down (with one hand, mind you) and we drove it back to the lake to be adorned in beauty.
Later that evening, T and Z got to work with Beps and helped her decorate the prize tree.
And I mean, come on, who doesn't decorate their Christmas tree while wearing a swimming suit over their PJ's?
