Countdown To Christmas

This year, during the season of Advent, we decided to start a couple of new traditions (I'll write about one now and the other later).  The first is our Advent Chain.  I got the idea and template from this fun website that was sent to me by a sweet friend (thanks, Noelle).

Each day T and Z take turns removing a link which gives us a fun project or adventure for the day.  We started on December 1 and I thought it would be fun to journal what activities we do each day as we prepare to celebrate Jesus' birthday.  So, here is what we have done so far....

24 Days 'Til Christmas: Fill a box for Operation Christmas Child
We actually did this activity a couple of weeks ago and so I put it as our first link :)

23 Days: Go Christmas light looking
Friday night after baths, I loaded the kiddos into the car in their jammies with some snacks and we headed over to our favorite local "light house" and watched their near hour-long light show.  You can check it out here if you are curious :)

22 Days: Decorate the Christmas Tree

21 Days 'Til Christmas: Make a popcorn garland

20 Days: Make Reindeer Candy Canes

Quick Side Note: No, my kiddos did not wear the same clothes two days in a row :)  Yesterday was kind of a busy day so we didn't get to our chain.  Instead, we just did two today - we're not stressing about it though.  This is supposed to be fun!

I wonder what we'll do tomorrow......

Well, I guess I already know since I'm the one who made the chain but it's still fun to pretend!
