9 1 1....Pushover Parent Emergency

So the other morning, T was playing with the phone under the supervision of his dad. T is very enthralled with the phone. Maybe it's all of the buttons and sounds that are so appealing. Or perhaps it is the voices he hears on the other end that are so exciting. We're not sure. What we do know is this. T gets almost giddy when the phone rings and/or he sees someone talking on it. At first, we didn't really let T touch the phone. Rather, we would give him one of his toy phones to play with instead. However, like so many other things, the toy version isn't nearly as intriguing as the real thing. And time after time of watching every appendage of his body wiggle and jiggle with excitement each time the "real" phone was in action resulted in us losing our resolve and hence, for T, touching the phone became a special, very limited, and always supervised activity. Anyway, the other morning, T was in all his glory with the telephone when suddenly, it rang in his chubby little hands. Dad answered and to his surprise, 911 was on the other end of the line. It seems T let his fingers do a little too much walking and somehow managed to push the "talk" button and then dial those 3 emergency numbers in the correct sequence. After apologizing profusely and reassuring the operator that there was no emergency, dad hung up the phone and T's special priviledge came to an abrupt halt. Now we're back to watching the wiggling and jiggling with each ring of the phone, but we've learned our lesson.

I'm confused... how did "touching the phone became a special, very limited, and always supervised activity" turn into 'dialed 911 without anyone's knowledge'???

Chances of dialing talk, 9, 1, and 1 in the right order: approximately one in 38,416. So you're saying there's a chance!
