After drumming in the kindergarten show, T was chosen to be one of the kindergarten representatives for the all-school talent show held on the last day of school. I really was not too certain that he would agree - finally deciding to play for his grade level show had been a big enough accomplishment in my book - but he proved me wrong. His teacher told me she was going to ask him the day after his kindergarten performance and when he came home that day, he very excitedly told me that he had been selected to play in the "big show". The change in his drive to play was really something. During the week leading up to the school show, he did not talk at all about being nervous but rather just about how excited he was. With one performance under his belt, he came up with a little bit more of a plan of what he wanted to play and created his own version of "Wipe Out." Last night and this morning, I was so nervous for him I thought I might be sick, but he showed no signs of apprehension - only excitement. So, in front of a crowd of a bit more than 800 students, staff, parents and grandparents, he drummed his little heart out. And I know I might be biased, but he did an AWESOME job! He still left out a few of the "tricks" he had been practicing but overall, he stuck with his plan and did so well! We could not be more proud of him and have made certain to express this to him. We've also talked about how God very wonderfully answered our prayers for confidence, courage and peace - not to mention the element of FUN! Listening to the kids cheer for him at the end and then watching the "big fifth graders" give him high-fives and so much praise and encouragement as he left the stage made this mama very proud! It seems that we might have a little performer on our hands because he's already talking about what he wants to do next year :-)

Tears of joy filled my eyes when I read your account - precious to know the Lord is faithful in the little and "big" things of life. You are wonderful parents - experiencing the blessing of the Lord. So proud of you, T. We've listened to your performance many times!! G & G
Loved it! That boy has talent. It was fun to see you and your bump, too, Stacy :)
