Wacky Hair Day

Each week at preschool, T's class has "sharing" on Thursdays. Typically we are given a topic for which the sharing item should correspond to - the topic usually matches whatever the theme is for that week. However, this week's sharing really has nothing to do with the week's theme of "Down on the Pond." Unless you think that "Wacky Hair Day" somehow goes with ponds. Regardless, T has been super excited for this sharing day ever since the April calendar came home to us. For the last few days, we have been talking about what kind of wacky hair T would like. He has his daddy's hair, so mohawks and other spikey do's using his own locks were really not an option.

That led us to our first real option - a wig. Michael has a Jack Sparrow wig that he wore to a pirate themed murder mystery dinner a couple of years ago so we tried that on for our first wacky hair-do.

T wore it down in a pirate style the first time. But he wasn't used to all that hair around his face and neck so then we decided to try a little up-do.A little sassy, don't you think?

I never really thought the wig would be a viable option - I was quite confident it would drive him nuts after about 5 minutes of wearing it. I was right. So, instead, we chose option number two - coloring T's own hair with wacky colors. We bought the colored spray yesterday and completed the gig this morning before school. T could not stop laughing at his reflection in the mirror, nor could he cease from making ridiculous faces at himself either. Z begged to have some wacky hair of her own, but I redirected and told her she could color her hair when she went to preschool :) Anyway, here's some looks at T's wacky hair!Three cheers for wacky hair day!

LOVE IT! Caleb got a chuckle out of T's hair too, but C says that he doesn't want crazy hair. :) It takes quite the personality to pull off hair like that.
