Elmer Fudd

T's Daddy decided that this was the year to usher him in to the world of blaze orange and deer hunts. Well, let me clarify. T did not actually accompany M on his annual hunt but he was gifted his very first rifle (pretend, of course), as well as his very own orange gear. He quickly received a lesson in gun safety - with the first and most important rule being, you never point your gun at people - and so far, he has abided by the rules quite consistently while out hunting for deer. It's amazing how many does and bucks are roaming around our house! Well, I guess they're not roaming around for very long - we've got quite a sharp shooter on our hands :) I'll admit, I'm working at being comfortable with having a toy gun in the house, but as long as it remains a tool for hunting animals and not a weapon of mass destruction, I guess I'm OK with it. And as long as I don't have to cook any of his pretend dead deer or hang any pretend antlers in my living room, I think I'll make it through this year's hunting season.

Super cute - Gramps is proud of you, too. You really are working hard to sight in that deer. Gramps and Uncle Arivd left the big buck out there for next year :). Grams

I totally understand how you feel with the gun concept. I used to cover Tim's eyes so he wouldn't see one. Nowadays, you can find any of our 4 children shooting squirrels, their siblings or the neighbors while playing war... For the record, we also had that talk about only shooting animals. :)
