"Red Hat. Blue Hat. Polka Dotted Zoo Hat."

At our most recent visit to the library, T and I spotted this book.It caught T's attention simply because he recognized his little sister's name on the cover. We decided to check it out and it has been a favorite in his library bin this week. It's a silly little story about all of the different hats that a little girl named Zoe likes. After reading the book last night before bed, T suggested that we make our own silly hats. I thought that was a grand idea so tonight we had our first official hat making event. First, we dot stamped our papers and then we cut them into appropriately sized hat parts. This was T's first real crack at independent cutting and I was impressed with his success. After stapling the parts into a hat shape, we continued the decoration of our hats. We added silly eyes, noses, stickers, floppy ears and curly ribbon hair. T's final product definitely fits into the silly hat category. Mission accomplished!Even little Z got her own silly hat......doesn't she look impressed with her new fashion accessory!?

T, I love your concentration as you worked the hats. You are a hard worker! I'm not sure Z was as impressed as I am, but she sure looks cute. Love to you, G & G L
