Park Play

On our last day in IL, we headed to a park along the St. Charles river. One of T's most recent interests is windmills (he is 50% Dutch, you know). This newest curiosity seems to fit with his love of all things that stretch up into the sky (flags, stars, the moon, light towers, airplanes, etc). Anyway, one of the landmarks in this particular park is an authentic Dutch windmill so of course, Pake thought it appropriate that we take T to see it. Our little Dutchmen was quite excited but he did take the time to pick some flowers for me (aka, dandelions) in the field leading up to the mill. Here's a shot of Pake and Beppe and their three little Dutchkins......I realize they're quite tiny in the photo but it's a REALLY BIG windmill!Probably the other favorite highlights from the park were collecting rocks to throw off the bridges into the river, and the ducks! There were lots of them! And they were very interested in meeting new friends....especially if you had a few little treats to offer them. It turns out that ducks are quite fond of Teddy Graham Trail Mix!
