Dancing Through The Days of Summer

Well, we've enjoyed another week of summer here at our house filled with all different types of activities that we really enjoy - most of which I neglected to take photos of but will share with you nonetheless. On Monday, T and I hit the Apple Valley water park to beat the heat. We enjoyed a couple of hours of swimming, complete with a picnic lunch on our lounge chairs. That same evening, we returned to the water after supper and brought Daddy along for a dip. T finally went all the way under - a real dunking - in some deep water and came up a bit surprised but quite proud of himself (I wish I had had my camera, but I did not). On Tuesday, he and I met up with some friends from church and took in Como Zoo. T's favorites seemed to be the giraffes, zebras and Sparky the Seal show. On Wednesday, T was my companion to IKEA where we picked up some fun accessories for the nursery (pictures will be coming) and then returned home to find a nice big box on our front steps. Enclosed were some new wheels (aka, a new stroller) that will accommodate both T and his little sis (will post pics of the new ride soon) - thanks, Pake and Beppe! That evening we hosted the "big kids" from church at our house for some water shenanigans in our backyard. T had a blast! Thursday brought more errands along with a trip to the library. And finally, today (which happens to be the only day that I took out the camera), we ventured off to the MN Zoo, with Daddy in tow this time, as Fridays are his day off from summer school. After walking the MN Trail, we made a stop at the Aquarium to check in on T's favorite pals.....the starfish. We also enjoyed the new Grizzly Coast exhibit from Russia, complete with three, you guessed it, Grizzly bears. The 3 bears were feeling pretty lazy when first we saw them and would barely raise their heads to glance at us.
They did become a bit more active on our way back through the exhibit but all in all, seemed to be taking it easy today. We did get quite a fun show from the sea otters along the same trail.....T found them to be quite entertaining as they displayed some of their water antics for us. We concluded our zoo trip by admiring and slightly experiencing all of the fun fountains and spritzers that are part of the new Grizzly Coast exhibit. It's been a good few days......I LOVE summer!
