Roller Derby

Grandpa and Grandma L. brought some pretty unusual Easter treats for the boys this weekend. They weren't your traditional baskets filled with candy. No, instead, the youngest cousin got a xylophone while the two elder cousins got their first pair of roller blades - Fisher Price style. So, Saturday night after supper, T and E strapped on their skates and turned "the loop" on our main floor into a skating rink. They both started out with a lot of parental support. But as the evening progressed, they both gained confidence in this new found sport. In fact, E got so brave in venturing out on his own that he took a few spills on the floor. Though he did not seem one bit bothered by them, we all thought it best to pull out some protective gear. And even though Little N did not quite meet the age requirement for the roller derby, he did a fine job of serving as the event's official referee!
