T Takes A Trip

T's imaginative play has really started booming recently, resulting in some pretty entertaining conversations. Here's an example of this morning's adventure.

I was in the bathroom getting ready for the day when T suddenly burst through the door with a big goofy grin on his face.

T: "Hi!"
S: "Hi!"
T: "How are you?"
S: "Good, how are you?"
T: "Good. I going on a trip."
S: "Oh, you're going on a trip. Where are you going?"
T: "Hawaii!"
S: "Oh wow! That sounds fun? Are you going to ride on a plane?"
T: "Yep. Se ya later!"

And just as quickly as he bounded in, he was gone, with an equally swift slam of the bathroom door. Not more than 15 seconds later, he came barreling through the door again.

T: "Hi, Mom (I've recently gone from Mama to Mommy to Mom)! I'm back!"
S: "Wow. That was a quick trip. Did you have fun?"
T: "Ohhhhhh yeaaaahhhh!"
S: "What did you do in Hawaii?"
T: "Um, I danced. And I went on a huge slide!"
S: "That sounds great. What else did you do?"
T: "I buyed some treats. I show you!"

Our little traveler then headed back down the hall and returned with the following Hawaiian treats (each of which were brought to me on individual trips in and out of the bathroom): Some M & Ms (which were actually one of Michael's history textbooks), some cinnamon toast (which was actually one of T's stocking caps) and some race cars (which in actuality was last Sunday's bulletin from church that was still sitting in my purse). Quite creative, don't you think? Now if he could only find a way to turn our Odyssey into a 747, offering non-stop flights to Honolulu.......

T - do you want to come with us? We are going there on Tuesday. Your parents could drop you off at MSP and we would bring you back in 2 weeks. Think it over. Marilyn
