Answered Prayer

Each night before T falls asleep, after he's had his snack, brushed his teeth and read a few bedtime stories, the last thing we do together is pray. When asked what he would like to thank God for, his list will often include all or some of the following: Pake, Beppe, Grandpa, Grandma, Tom, Tricia, Grace, Grant, Erik, Noah, Turt (Curt), Amy, Henrik, Tarrie (Carrie), Brent, Jennifer, Erin, Lazlo, flags, drums and basketball (in no particular order). So we thank God for the named people and/or items and then one of my closing prayers always goes something like this, "Most of all we thank you for Jesus. Please help T to know Jesus in his heart."

Well, it seems that this prayer is beginning to take root and sprout in our little guy because on Friday, when T and I went to Target to get groceries, this is what happened. We walked in the doors and T immediately noticed all of the large hearts hanging from the ceiling, advertising the approaching holiday of love.

He said, "Mama! Look at all the hearts!"
I replied, "Wow. There sure are a lot of hearts."
To which T replied, "Jesus is in my heart."
"He is?", I questioned, "Jesus is in your heart?"
"Yeah. Jesus is in my heart. Jesus is in my heart."

My heart welled up with joy at this little proclamation. T then proceeded to tell everyone we passed in Target that Jesus is in his heart. Preach it, T. Preach it!
